From within the pattern identities emerge before returning into their context just below the surface. The works in this series are initialized as live paintings made in real time as synesthetic interpretations of musical performances. Color choices, mark making and composition are reflective of the energy and sounds of the music that serves as their inspiration. Additional pattern work is added afterwards to enmesh these faces into fields of abstraction.
